Surrounded by snow-covered peaks, fresh air, and peaceful silence, the Valley of Flowers feels like a hidden paradise. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and attracts nature lovers, photographers, and trekkers from around the world. Walking through the valley is a peaceful and refreshing experience, with every step offering a new view of colorful plants, flowing streams, and mountain backdrops.
Hemkund Sahib
Located at an altitude of around 4,329 meters, Hemkund Sahib is one of the highest Gurudwaras in the world. It holds great religious importance for Sikhs and is also visited by people from different walks of life. The name “Hemkund” means “lake of snow,” and the Gurudwara sits beside a beautiful glacial lake surrounded by seven snow-covered peaks.
To reach Hemkund Sahib, visitors trek from Ghangaria on a steep path that is both physically challenging and spiritually rewarding. The calm and powerful atmosphere at the top, combined with the view of the lake and the Gurudwara, makes it a truly unforgettable place.
Hemkund Sahib is often visited together with the Valley of Flowers, as both spots are located close to each other and share the same base village, Ghangaria. Visiting both places offers a perfect mix of nature and spirituality.
